Introduction

The continuation and development of the religious rule in our country, which is achieved by the widespread scientific and practical struggles of scholars and the faithful nation of Iran, requires the development and expansion of scientific theorizing with a religious approach. Innovation and production in human science in a way that theorizing and explaining how religion is actively involved in the fields of human education and administration of society is one of the most important principles of the survival of the Islamic Revolution. This will not be possible without the interaction between the Hawzah ʿilmīyah (Seminary) as the representative of the religious scholarship and the university as the representative of modern knowledge; the ideal that aroused numerous scientific efforts and currents in the early years after the revolution, entitled Unity of the Hawzah and the University. In the meantime, the existence of the Khorasan Seminary, which, due to the blessed shrine of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Rida (AS) in this city, has a Brilliant historical background, along with the Ferdowsi University – the 3rd oldest university in Iran - has provided a unique opportunity for a successful intellectual synthesis between Islam and modernity. Accordingly, during meetings between the professors from these two centers, discussing the methods of interrelationship between Hawzah and university, and examining the experience of similar centers, the Institute for Islamic Studies in the Humanities was established. The institute strives to play a significant role in pushing scientific and research attention to the philosophical foundations of the humanities, the discourse of Islamic humanities and presenting social patterns in line with religious values. The institute currently has four research groups (Islamic economics, Islamic management, Islamic education and jurisprudence, and Islamic law) and has a specialized library containing more than 3500 volumes.
