Islamic Education Research Group of the Institute of Islamic Studies in Humanities, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, relying on the capacities of the country’s scientific community and international experts, has made the effort to extract and deduce the principles, approaches and methods from Islamic sources to formulate a valid theory and model of Islamic education that can be offered to the world of humanity.

This group also includes the core of clinical psychology and counseling. At the core of clinical psychology and counseling of the Institute of Islamic Studies in the Humanities, the attempt is to enrich contemporary approaches to psychology, counseling, and psychotherapy with Islamic teachings and to address some of the conflicts between Islamic teachings and the science of psychology and counseling.

Deep belief in the need for continuous research in the Quran and Sunnah, the need to study both theoretical sources and field conditions and requirements, conflicting opinions and using the views of Islamic world’s scholars from different religions -both in universities and seminaries, schools and local communities- in line with the above-mentioned mission, are among the central values of this group.
