“Masaleh Monthly”: A Platform for Explaining the Country’s Strategic Issues

Masaleh Monthly is a theme-based periodical dedicated to the articulation and promotion of key public policy and governance issues. Adopting a multidimensional approach, each issue of the magazine focuses on a critical national challenge, examining it from diverse perspectives. Through the active participation of specialized think tanks, Masaleh Monthly serves as a platform for constructive engagement in the public policy sphere.

The magazine is published by Khaneh-ye Andishevarzan (The House of Thinkers), an institution that defines its mission as supporting think tanks and scholars. The Research Institute for Islamic Studies in the Humanities at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad served as the lead think tank for the second issue (August 2025), playing a central role in the development and compilation of its scholarly content.

A Comprehensive Look at the People-Centered Economy

 

The second issue of Masaleh Monthly, titled “A Review of Studies on the People-Centered Economy in Iran, with a Summary and Critique of Existing Works,” provides a systematic examination of the concept of the people-centered economy within the framework of the Resistance Economy and in light of the Supreme Leader’s statements.

This issue is organized into two main sections:

Section I: A Review of Studies on the People-Centered Economy in Iran

This section includes 31 specialized articles and essays, addressing a wide range of topics, such as:

  • An examination of the general policies of Article 44 of the Constitution from the perspective of a people-centered economy

  • The role of government in promoting economic participation by the people

  • Business models in a people-centered economy

  • Incentive mechanisms for economic participation

  • Feasibility of public participation across industries (oil, renewable energy, electricity)

  • The role of cooperatives in the Resistance Economy

  • Conceptual frameworks for the fair distribution of subsidies

  • Comparative assessment of people-centered economics and privatization

  • Evaluation of successive post-revolutionary governments in promoting a people-centered economy

Section II: Summary, Analysis, and Critique of Studies

Entitled “People-Centered Economy in the Perspective of Indigenous Theory-Building,” this section analyzes and critiques prior research on the topic and proposes pathways for developing localized and context-based theoretical frameworks for the people-centered economy.
