Fifth Session of the Economic Lecture Series Held: "Resistance Economy in the Light of National Unity and National Security"

The fifth session of this lecture series, entitled "Subsidy Distribution Based on Smart Governance Models," was held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Institute for Islamic Studies in Humanities (IISH), in both on-site and on-line formats. The session featured a presentation by Mr. Mohammad Rasoul Nezafati.

During the session, the subsidy distribution system was analyzed across three levels: "equity in distribution," "decision-making and policy-making system," and "distribution technology." The speaker, through a critical assessment of the policy-making layer, emphasized the lack of a transformative vision and the need to achieve a unified model. He noted that under current circumstances, the necessity of redefining a fair system has limited the function of distribution systems and technologies to merely a supervisory level, aimed solely at preventing corruption and resource leakage.

Subsequently, given the country's inflationary conditions, the need to shift from cash-based distribution to in-kind distribution was explained. Additionally, while elaborating on the implications and capacities of smart governance in redesigning welfare infrastructures, a proposed model for subsidy distribution based on data-driven and smart patterns was presented. At the end of the session, attendees critically examined various dimensions of the proposal, and the strengths and weaknesses of the model were discussed by the participants.
